York Registry Office Wedding
Capturing memories at York Registry Office is always a pleasure and starts how many of my York wedding venues shoots start - with a bike ride. With York Being such a small city and packed full of brilliant choices for couples, I really enjoy the quick ten minute pedal that being a York based photographer allows me.
Upon arriving the families were pooling on Bootham Road outside and eager to enter the Bootham Suite before the ceremony began. The lovely warren had a moment with his friends and family before the long wait at the top of the aisle. He deinfetly had an air of nerves and high anticipation to him!
Before Rachelle’s grand entrance, she was proceeded by two young children who sheepishly smiled as they strode into place. Warren’s reaction to first seeing Rachelle was priceless.
I found the ceremony deeply moving as they delivered their own vows which felt incredibly natural and said with complete adoration. The way they spoke about eachother felt completely true and with deep conviction. It’s fair to say many of their friends and family were also in a slightly sopping wet mess over it.
After a light sprinkling of confetti, the pair headed out to be greeted by their loved ones and after captured a few formal images in the outdoor area of the register office.
A great migration of guests headed bound for the York Museum Gardens which Rachelle and Warren had planned to capture additional photos of loved ones there with the ancient walls of St Mary’s Abbey as a great backdrop.
All the arranged shots of groups were quickly captured and the conditions were ideal with the ruins casting a soft shadow protecting us from the harsh and bright late summer sun.
The pair then joined me for a photo walk through the Museum Gardens, a quick stop off to say hello to the Paddington Statue and down Chapter House Street for a perfect view of The Minster.
With the register office package being a reduced amount of hours and perfect for couples looking for a shorter ceremony, our time photographing was coming to an end but the party for the lovely duo was just beginning. I left them at The Minster Refectory as they headed off for an afternoon of entertainment followed by a lifetime of memories.
